Amsara Luxury Retreat – The Sydney Morning Herald Travel Magazine, July 2009
The just-opened Amsara is a tropical paradise for gourmands. Two airy apartments with views of Cable Beach and the Indian Ocean sleep four. Wide verandas, Raffles-style ceiling fans, floor-to-ceiling bofold doors, day beds and casual cane furnishings convey the languid mood of the north. Lush gardens offer shady nooks and a pool overlooks a lagoon. Owners Don and Jan Hodgson, founders of Sydney providores The Essential Ingredient, are creating delicious modern Australian cuisine using fresh local produce. Breakfast on the veranda, lunch under the gum trees or dine beneath the stars.
Amsara, Cable Beach, Broome, Western Australia, (08) 9192 7761, amsara.com.au. Apartments cost $1200 a night, $2400 for both apartments, includes meals and transfers.
